This article explains the factors that influence the order of offers and the price you see.
Information on how we rank offers
The order of offers you see is determined by a combination of factors, primarily designed to match your needs and market reality.
- Objective factors: These are the inputs you provide or the inherent qualities of the product. We prioritise offers that best match these: search query (destination, dates, number of travelers, etc.), service characteristics (price, duration, flight stops, hotel amenities, star rating, etc.) and customer feedback (reviews and ratings from other travelers).
- Customised recommendations: For recognised users, we analyse your past activity on our site to anticipate what you are likely to prefer. This is a helpful mechanism , not a filter. We consider for instance: preferred airlines, typical hotel category, common trip duration, and past booking history.
- Market dynamics and commercial factors: To keep the offers on our site competitive and comprehensive, we may consider external market factors (current demand, supplier inventory levels, or seasonal trends in a specific location) and commercial agreements. In some cases, agreements or incentives with our partners may influence the placement of similar offers. This only happens when the offers are already competitive and meet your search criteria.
You are always in control: We always use a default ranking, which is the initial order of results displayed. However, you can always override this by using the Sort and Filter options on the results page to organise results exactly as you prefer (e.g., by lowest price, shortest duration, or highest review score).
Specific ranking criteria by product

Flights
By default, we sort flight results by “Best”. This ranking is calculated using your search criteria (departure airport, destination, date, number of passengers etc.) together with an algorithm that balances price, flight duration, and convenience (such as the number of layovers and departure times). For users who are logged in or recognised, we may also adjust the ranking to highlight flights that match your historical preferences (for example, if you frequently choose a specific airline). While commercial partnerships can play a role, the primary goal of these sorts is to show the best combination of price and convenience. You can always choose to sort results strictly by "Cheapest" or "Fastest" using the sort buttons. -
Hotels, and Flight + Hotel packages
For accommodations and Flight + Hotel packages, the default ranking is “Best” or “Most Popular”. This view highlights properties that offer a strong balance of value and quality for you. To do so, the algorithm considers your search criteria (destination, check-in date, checkout date, room/traveler configuration, etc.) and property characteristics such as the property's location, amenities, guest review scores, and price competitiveness. It may also factor in the popularity of a hotel (how often it is booked or viewed by other customers) and seasonality. If you have booked with us before, we may prioritise properties similar to your previous stays. Finally, you can also choose to sort results by “Number of stars”, “Distance” “Price”, and “Reviews” criteria. -
Car Rental
Our car rental results are sorted by “Recommended” by default.This ranking is generated by our partner CarTrawler’s sorting algorithm based on factors such as search criteria, rental price, customer ratings of the supplier, vehicle features, and pickup location's convenience. Commercial partnerships with car rental companies allow us to offer competitive rates and inventory. These partnerships, together with the abovementioned sorting model, can influence which cars appear in the Recommended list. You can always choose to sort results strictly by "Price" or "Rating" using the sort buttons. -
Trains
For train journeys, results are generally sorted by “Earliest” or “Best”. The “Best” ranking is determined by an algorithm that balances your search criteria (departure station, destination, dates, etc.) with journey characteristics such as price, total duration, and the number of connections. For users who are logged in or recognised, we may also adjust the ranking to highlight options that match your historical preferences, such as specific carriers, departure times, or connection types previously selected in your booking history. Our commercial partnerships may play a role in the placement of certain results, but our priority remains showing you options that offer a strong mix of price and journey efficiency. As with all products, you can always use the sort and filter buttons to organise results by your own specific priorities.
Information on prices
Our site aggregates millions of options globally, meaning prices are constantly changing based on live market conditions. The final price you see is updated in real-time based on objective, market-wide factors, such as demand and supply (as seats/rooms are booked or demand spikes, prices may increase) and supplier inventory (prices reflect the real-time availability provided directly by airlines, hotels, or car rental partners). Prices may vary slightly across different third-party comparison sites due to distinct market conditions (for instance, based on the corresponding costs, the competitive environment or search and booking activity). Prices may vary across different distribution channels in accordance with our multi-channel policy. We tailor our best offers and discounts based on your relationship with us. For example, we provide welcome offers. New users may occasionally see a one-time promotional rate on their first booking, and once benefitted from the welcome offer, they will see the Prime standard pricing.
We also have ringfenced offers for account users and, further on, for Prime subscribers. While the account might unlock some special offers, our Prime subscription unlocks exclusive prices and more benefits (which could be: enhanced flexibility, and priority support, among others).
